The Team
Ultimate Motorsport are a new British Formula 3 team that was set up in October 2006 by former Formula Palmer Audi driver Barry Walsh. Run by former Maclaren and Illmor engineers the team has quickly come together to enter a pair of works Mygales in the British F3 Series. With full support from French contructor Mygale the team and drivers aim to develop the new F3 chassis to take on the Dallara cars which have dominated Formula 3 since 1994.

Mygale - Mercedes-Benz F3 car
Engine:
2 litre normally aspirated F3 engine. Current options - Mercedes-Benz or Opel
Gearbox:
Pankl PGB003 F3 gearbox and mechanical diff.
Chassis :
FIA homologated 2005 specification carbon fibre monocoque.
Tyres :
To suit series regulations.
Wheels :
ATS aluminium alloy. Front: 9"x13", rear 10.5"x13".
Brakes :
Brembo four piston aluminium callipers front and rear. Cockpit adjustable brake bias with lightweight pedal box and AP master cylinders.
Steering :
FIA homologated collapsible steering column. Sparco supplied steering wheel with quick release system. Unassisted rack and pinion assembly.
Safety :
FIA homologated front and rear crash box structures and survival cell to latest FIA safety criteria. FIA homologated plumbed-in fire extinguishing system. 6 point safety harness.
Driveshafts :
Pankl supply with tripode joints at inner and outer ends.
Dampers :
Standard fit Koni F3 dampers with other options at customers request.
Suspension :
Front : twin dampers with push rods and independent rockers. Separate coil springs.
Rear : twin dampers with separate coil springs operated by pull rods and low mounted rockers. Double wishbone front and rear with lightweight fabricated steel uprights.
Bellhousing :
Cast aluminium bellhousing to suit current engine options.
Cooling :
Twin sidepod mounted Behr core water radiators; Air/oil cooler for engine.
Wiring/dash:
FIA approved Bosch F3 loom and steering wheel mounted digital display.
Min weight:
550 Kg in race trim with driver and ballast.
Engine:
Mercedes-Benz, Four cylinder in-line, 16 valves and twin overhead.
Power:
210bhp @ 6000rpm
Performance:
Top Speed 165mph. Acceleration 0-60mph 3.0seconds. Deceleration 130-50mph in 2.8seconds.
